The Rotary District 5040 Conference 2025, held from ​​April 25–27​​ at the stunning ​​River Rock Casino Resort​​ in Richmond, BC, was an inspiring gathering of Rotarians dedicated to "Empowering Communities Near and Far." This year’s conference carried special significance for our club, as ​​District Governor Drew Antrobus​​—a proud member from Rotary Richmond Sunset—led the charge in organizing this impactful event.

During the event, we prominently showcased our ​​Peace Garden Project​​, and attendees engaged with our interactive booth, which featured project blueprints, fund raising, and stories of how the garden will serve as a space for intercultural dialogue and peace building in Richmond

We’re proud to share that ​8 members​ from our club attended the conference, actively participating in discussions and forging connections with Rotarians across the district. Two of our members stole the spotlight with well-deserved recognitions:

A Musical Interlude to Remember​

During a coffee break, guests were treated to a soulful performance by ​four Rotaractors(Herman Li, Jayden Chan, Hilary Szutu, Altina Ng) from Steveston-London Secondary School​​, who played a harmonious blend of ​​cello and violin​. Their music added a touch of elegance to the event and exemplified Rotary’s commitment to nurturing youth talent and cultural exchange.
